K. Luisa este din Germania si in prezent locuieste in zona Ruhr. Devotamentul ei fata de muzica techno este palpabil la fiecare gig, deoarece ea impinge constant limitele creativitatii sale si se straduieste sa ofere publicului ei o experienta de neuitat.

Prin arta sa, ea ii invita pe ascultatorii sai sa se scufunde in magia techno, sa se lase purtati de ritmurile pulsante si sa se imbarce intr-o calatorie sonora extraordinara.

KIKA (MD) (Chisinau. Timetable 05:00 → 07:00)

Kristiyan Panchuk aka KIKA (MD) este un producator si dj din Chisinsu, Republica Moldova. Inspirat de cultura techno olandeza, dupa doi ani de locuit acolo, s-a intors acasa doar dintr-un singur motiv - acela de a dezvolta cultura techno in Moldova. El a fondat Metanoia care este primul si singurul eveniment din Moldova cu accent pe rolling, drive si up tempo techno. Particularitatea acestor petreceri se exprima prin mentinerea clara a unui anumit stil techno, mai underground si profund.

Michael Ius - (Bucuresti. Timetable 22:00 → 02:00)

Muzician la baza, absolvent la liceului de muzica si Conservator, sectiunea chitara clasica, s-a oprit la Techno dupa 19 ani de muzica pentru ca asta il ajuta sa se exprime liber in productie, fara bariere.

Fondator Techno Diatom, Michael este inspirat de sound-ul din Vestul Europei si vrea sa dezvolte acest curent si in Romania, prin prisma evenimentelor pe care le organizeaza.

Muzica electronica si subgenurile Techno:

Muzica house se trage din sound-ul muzicii disco, inca de la inceputul anilor 80. Muzica Disco a aparut la inceputul anilor '70 ca o mișcare underground nascuta din cultura gay urbana din New York.

Muzica techno este o forma de muzica electronica care a devenit importanta la sfarsitul anilor 1980 și 1990. In timp ce genurile disco si R&B se bazeaza pe instrumente live, techno este creat folosind instrumente electronice.

Techno isi are radacinile in band-uri germane electro-pop, cum ar fi Kraftwerk, dar genul s-a remarcat in orase precum New York, Detroit și Chicago.

La sfarsitul anilor 90, muzica techno a dat nastere multor subgenuri, inclusiv minimal techno, ambient techno, hardcore techno, industrial techno, inteligent dance music (IDM), trance, deep techno si tech house. Din aceste subgenuri au aparut ramuri precum acid house, rave, electronica si EDM.

Detroit Techno

Derek May, Juan Atkins si Derek Saunderson au lucrat pentru a dezvolta un sound futurist care a fost inspirat de artisti precum Kraftwerk, Devo, The Human League si Gary Numan. Artistii au creat un nou sound, ispirat din genul funk. Acesta reflecteaza „degradarea urbana” si a ajuns sa fie cunoscut sub numele de „Detroit Techno”.

Minimal Techno

Minimal Techno variaza de la 125 la 130 BPM. A aparut in anii 90 si exista doua caracteristici principale ale acestui subgen: „scheletalismul” care foloseste doar elementele de baza (groove, kick si bass) si “textura”, insemnand ornamente muzicale pentru a adauga varietate.

Esența acestui gen este repetarea, schimbarile subtile si sentimentul general de a fi redus doar la esential.

Producatorii din Detroit, Robert Hood si Daniel Bell, sunt recunoscuti pentru ca au adus acest nou sunet in lumina reflectoarelor. Unele dintre numele proeminente din Minimal Techno astazi sunt Ricardo Villalobos, Trentemøller si Monolake.

Industrial Techno

Influentat de sunetul agresiv al santierelor, reverbul din hale al ciocanelor si fierastraielor, Industrial Techno a aparut in anii 90 si a cunoscut o renastere in anii 2010.

Artisti precum Cut Hands, Surgeon și Helena Hauff mixeaza Industrial Techno.

Deep Techno

Deep techno este o gama larga de muzica care este in general ambientala si pune accent pe dans.

Beat-ul este simplu si repetitiv, cu un bass in plina expansiune. Acest lucru il face mai dansabil. Vocile sunt texturate, iar sintetizatoarele sunt folosite nu pentru melodie, ci pentru a adauga straturi la sunet. Aranjamentele sunt simple si se concentrează mai mult pe emotie.

Jeran Portis este un artist remarcabil in acest gen.

Acid Techno

Deseori denumit „Acid”, Acid Techno este un derivat al Acid House care s-a dezvoltat in Europa la sfarsitul anilor 80 și începutul anilor 90. Sintetizatorul de bas Roland TB-303 ii ofera sound-ul sau unic in care rezonanta si “taierea” frecventelor sunt adesea manipulate in timp real. Unele dintre cele mai vechi exemple ale acestui gen pot fi gasite in lucrarile Hardfloor, Solar Quest si chiar Aphex Twin.

Berlin Techno

Orasul Berlin este considerat capitala techno a lumii. Tinerii au organizat rave-uri in cladiri abandonate, cum ar fi buncare, centrale electrice, hangare si chiar statii de metrou. Muzica la aceste evenimente a fost in mare parte House si Techno din Detroit.

In cele din urma, muzica a devenit mai dura, fara voci si cu basul agresiv. Clubul Berghain este considerat drept unul dintre cele mai importante locuri pentru muzica techno.

Dark Techno

Dark Techno nu este clasificat in functie de tempo sau instrumentatie, ci mai degraba de vibratia muzicii. Melodiile transmit energia filmelor SF si Horror, care pot fi incantatoare pentru unii ascultatori.

„Dark Techno” de Max Minimal si „Battery (Matt Mus Remix)” de Andre Grandeza sunt exemple de piese care se incadreaza in această categorie de muzica. Casele de discuri germane Endzeit, NG (New Generation) Records, Rangnarøk si Subwoofer se concentrează toate pe Dark Techno.

Tech House

Dupa cum sugereaza si numele, „Tech House” combina elemente de Deep si Minimal Techno cu aspecte jazzy si pline de suflet ale muzicii House. Beat-urile constau in general din tobe scurte si hi-hats agitate. Sintetizatorul Roland TB-303 este utilizat pe scara larga si unor producatori le place, de asemenea, sa adauge si voci pline de suflet.

Green Velvet, Patrick Topping si Solardo sunt exemple de artisti care au piese “Tech House” de top in discografiile lor.

Dub Techno

Producatorii Moritz Von Oswald si Mark Ernestus au format Basic Channel in anii 90 si sunt fondatorii Dub Techno.

Efecte texturale, cum ar fi reverb, ecou si phasing sunt adaugate pentru miscare si pentru a oferi Dub Techno-ului calitatea ambientala. Accentul este pus pe minimalism si relaxare sonora.

„Dub” este influentat de sound-ul reggae din Jamaica.

„Cyan I” de la Monolake si „Direct Out/Direct Drive” de Continuous Mode sunt piese cunoscute Dub Techno.

Tehno melodic

Melodic Techno se caracterizeaza prin utilizarea de armonii arpegiate, de obicei cu acorduri minore. Are o stare atmosferica, prin urmare, este foarte asemanatoare cu muzica Progressive Trance. Tempo-ul nu depaseste, in general, 130 BPM.

Cunoscutul DJ, Solomun, mixeaza muzica Melodic Techno.

Why Techno Diatom? For the past four years, Techno Diatom has been diversifying the Romanian techno music landscape, introducing diversity and a fresh sound. We deliberately steer clear of the Rominimal, Microhouse, and Tech-House patterns, championing instead the need for variety. Our audience shares this vision, and together we have inspired other collectives to explore and innovate. Choose Techno Diatom and be part of the movement!

On December 8th, we will delve into Hypnotic Techno, characterized by rhythmic and sonic loops, complemented by various modulating leads. This is not your typical Mainroom techno with lengthy breakdowns and anticipated drops. Instead, it’s an invitation to freedom, to be yourself, to close your eyes and let the sound carry you away, because that’s what music is all about, isn’t it?

KIKA (MD) (Chisinau. Timetable 05:00 → 07:00)

Kristiyan Panchuk aka KIKA (MD) is a producer and DJ from Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. Inspired by the Dutch techno culture after living there for two years, he returned home for one reason - to develop the techno culture in Moldova. He founded Metanoia, which is the first and only event in Moldova focusing on rolling, drive, and up-tempo techno. The particularity of these parties is expressed through the clear maintenance of a certain style of techno, more underground and profound.

A musician at heart, a graduate of the music high school and Conservatory, in the classical guitar section, he settled on Techno after 19 years of music because it helps him express himself freely in production, without barriers.

Founder of Techno Diatom, Michael is inspired by the sound from Western Europe and wants to develop this trend in Romania, through the lens of the events he organizes.

Electronic Music and Techno Subgenres:

House music stems from the sound of disco music, starting in the early 80s. Disco appeared in the early '70s as an underground movement born from the urban gay culture in New York.

Techno is a form of electronic music that became significant in the late 1980s and 1990s. While disco and R&B rely on live instruments, techno is created using electronic instruments.

Techno has its roots in German electro-pop bands, such as Kraftwerk, but the genre made its mark in cities like New York, Detroit, and Chicago.

In the late 90s, techno gave birth to many subgenres, including minimal techno, ambient techno, hardcore techno, industrial techno, intelligent dance music (IDM), trance, deep techno, and tech house. From these subgenres emerged branches such as acid house, rave, electronica, and EDM.

Techno Subgenres:

Detroit Techno

Derek May, Juan Atkins, and Derek Saunderson worked to develop a futuristic sound inspired by artists such as Kraftwerk, Devo, The Human League, and Gary Numan. They created a new sound inspired by the funk genre. It reflects "urban decay" and has come to be known as "Detroit Techno".

Minimal Techno

Minimal Techno ranges from 125 to 130 BPM. It appeared in the 90s and there are two main characteristics of this subgenre: "skeletalism" using only the basic elements (groove, kick, and bass) and "texture," meaning musical elements that are only touched on but not developed fully.

Deep Techno

Influenced by Minimal Techno and Deep House, Deep Techno appeared in Berlin in the 2000s. It features dark tones and emphasizes melody and harmony.

Dub Techno

This subgenre is slower, with a beat that ranges between 110 and 120 BPM. It's a mix of Minimal Techno and Dub Music. One of the pioneers of this style is the Berlin duo Basic Channel.

Acid Techno

It originated from acid house. Its main element is the Roland TB-303 synthesizer.

Industrial Techno

This subgenre is based on industrial music, featuring aggressive sounds, and often includes metallic sounds, electrical sounds, and dark ambient sounds.

Hard Techno

Ranging from 150 to 170 BPM, this subgenre features distorted beats and aggressive sounds.

Tech House

This subgenre merges techno with house music and has a groovy and soulful sound. It originated in the mid-'90s in the United States and Europe.

Minimal Techno and Tech House are two of the most popular subgenres of techno in Romania. Minimal Techno is characterized by its stripped-back aesthetic and its focus on rhythm and texture. Tech House blends the soulful and funky elements of house music with the stripped-back sound of techno.

Over the last decade, Romania has developed its own distinct style of minimal techno, sometimes referred to as "Rominimal." This style is characterized by its intricate drum patterns, lush soundscapes, and hypnotic grooves.

Despite the popularity of minimal techno and tech house, there is a growing community of music lovers and artists in Romania who are looking to diversify the techno music scene and introduce new sounds and styles. Techno Diatom is at the forefront of this movement, championing a more varied and adventurous approach to techno music.
